VISION:

A vibrant, thriving Greater Pittsburgh Jewish Community that embraces the sacred legacy of lifelong Jewish learning and fosters connections to Israel and the Jewish people.

MISSION:

To build the community’s capacity to deliver inspiring Jewish learning experiences to the largest number of people.

AJL DoesThis By:

  • Advocating for formal, informal and experiential Jewish education in all its diverse settings
  • Fostering collaboration with and among synagogues, schools and organizations across the spectrum of Jewish ideologies
  • When uniquely positioned, directly providing classes and programs
  • Providing educational resources to educators and institutions
  • Assuring the highest level of expertise among educators and lay leaders in Jewish educational institutions
  • Working in close partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh as a catalyst for new initiatives and to identify and plan for meeting community needs
